Module I: 100 Hours

Students must complete level I & II for a 200 hour Yoga Alliance teaching certificate. 


Students will gain a strong foundation in the methodology, philosophy, psychology and practical aspects of Yoga and the Patanjali Yoga Sutra. We will explore the science of Asana and the art of addressing the individual’s needs through Yoga using Yoga Chikitsa, or Yoga therapy, as our guide. Specific attention to alignment  and detail empower the student in developing a personal practice as well as how to develop great classes. Students will learn adjustments, how to successfully read individual’s bodies & physiology and to make the necessary modifications for the individual’s benefit. Module II: 100 Hours                           Nov 6 - 24, 2017                      
Prerequisite: Level I

Investigate further into the art of Yoga and teaching skills. Students will have the opportunity to develop their own classes and teaching styles. Deepen practice as we focus on longer holds in asana, specifically inversions, arm balances, hip openers and backbends. Our prime objective will be to prepare students further for the practical application of what they have learned in offering classes of their own; sequencing, adjustments, reading bodies, teaching skills, and ultimately, how to become a great teacher.

If Yoga is the dissolving of all self-limiting thoughts patterns & tendencies, then self awareness and getting free is the key!  Yoga Hanalei offers a non dogmatic, practical and fresh approach to Hatha Yoga which appreciates Yoga as an evolving science and the art of living well being.  Exploring a fusion of Hatha, Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Vinyasa / Flow Yoga,  the training cultivates a well rounded and holistic approach, where the aim is to teach the student, and not just a style.

We believe that Yoga is the art of transformation and finding 
peace in mind, body & spirit, and that in this day and age, 
Yoga is now needed more then ever!

Module IV: 100 Hours

Continuing education towards 300 or 500 hour certification                                           

For the student interested in honing their skills in the endless process of Yoga. A continuation of teaching skills, anatomy, the therapeutic use of Yogasana, adjustments, pranayama, and Patanjali’s Yoga Philosophy and Psychology.  Deepened study of anatomy, physiology, sequencing, adjustments, and teaching skills

Modules III, IV & V are offered annually, and can be taken in any order.
